The Purple Stripe I

The Purple Stripe I

This garden, called the 'Purple Stripe', was my favourite garden at Tatton 2003. Exhibited in the 'back-to-back' section by Macclesfield Borough Council, the garden was a celebration of the spirit and ambience of the borough's parks. The garden featured a stunning meadow strip and some innovative features like planting in a sunken area under a metal walkway. The hoverflies and bees appeared to like the garden as much as I did. A Contemporary Bucolic Idyll

A Contemporary Bucolic Idyll

This powerfully understated garden was planted entirely with native and naturalised species like the teasles (Dipsacus fullonum) shown here. The garden, featured in the 'back-to-back' category at Tatton 2003, was set amongst beautifully crafted dry stone walls. Follow this link for the full feature article: Tatton Park.
